Household hazardous waste collection

A household hazardous waste collection event will be held in the Jämijärvi municipality on August 13, 2026 at the municipal warehouse (Puhdistamontie) from 12:00 to 18:00.

The collection is organized in cooperation with the Municipality of Jämijärvi and Lassila & Tikanoja Plc. There is no fee for the collection of hazardous waste from households.

The most common household hazardous waste groups are:

• Waste oils (only small quantities for collection, no barrels). Barrel orders to be picked up separately. Waste oils to be picked up separately: the customer pays the costs of the pick-up. Tank truck pick-up €85 / pick-up + waste €0,04/kg + transfer document fee €12 (lots over 800 liters are picked up free of charge)
• accumulators and batteries containing heavy metals
• medicines
• paints, glues, varnishes and solvents
• mercury-containing thermometers, etc.
• mercury-containing fluorescent lamps
• pesticides and poisons
• acids and bases, etc. chemicals

Hazardous waste must be delivered to the collection truck, sorted by waste group. At other times, the import of hazardous waste is strictly prohibited.
