It is worth preparing in advance for various disruptions, crises and exceptional circumstances. Situations that require preparation include, for example:

On a farm with domestic animals, you need your own generator or at least the electrical connection needed to connect it.

What to do if the power goes out?

• Find out if the outage is only in your apartment or in a wider area.

• Remember to turn off stoves, irons, washing machines and coffee makers. These electrical appliances can cause a fire if they are left on when the power comes back on.
• If trees have fallen on power lines, do not clear them. Report the fallen trees to the power company.

• You can also charge your mobile phone in your car if you have purchased a car charger that is suitable for your phone.

Long-term and widespread power outages
