Jämijärvi Municipal Library is part of the Sata Libraries, which includes all the libraries in the municipalities and towns of Satakunta. The same library card is valid in all Sata Libraries.

Civic college curricula are being distributed in the library.
Ikaalinen Community College's curriculum is available at the library and municipal office. You can also view the curriculum online at the college's website. Please note that paper curriculum will not be distributed to homes this year.
The library also has study programs for courses organized by Petäjä College in Kankaanpää.

Summer reading campaign for children and young people 1.6.–31.8.2026
Read or listen to books this summer and enter the raffle. The campaign collects 10-minute reading steps. Listening to a book also counts, so an adult can read to a child or a child/young person can listen to an audiobook.
Get a Reading Leap participation form from the library (starting June 1st), collect at least 1.6 step and return the form to the library by August 31.8st at the latest.
There is a locked grey mailbox on the wall near the lending desk for returns. More information about participation and the raffle can be found in the form.

Console game loan period now 28 days
The loan period for console games is 28 days starting from June 1, 2026. You can have 5 games on loan at the same time.
Publishers' brochures for books coming out in the summer and fall
You can browse publishers' brochures in the library. The brochures can be found at the end of the lending desk. You can make reservations for new releases that have already been ordered from Sata Libraries. There is no charge for reservations (uncollected reservations cost €1).

E-library summer campaign
The e-library is with you even in the summer! Enjoy reading on a park bench, a cottage dock or on a vacation trip. Download the free mobile app or read at e-library.fi.

The library's research room can be reserved through the municipality's space reservation service, Asio.

Self-service opening hours are Mon–Sun 8 am–21 pm. There is no staff present in the library during self-service hours.
During self-service hours, you can return and borrow materials, pick up reservations, and stay in the library freely.
A library card and personal PIN code are required for entry and use. Everyone logs into the library with their own card.
How do I get out the door?
There is an opening button in front of the wind cabinet. Wave your hand near the opening button, for example from top to bottom. The door also opens by twisting and pushing the door button, but the door is stiff.

Loan and return machine
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- You do not need a library card to return items. First, select return.
- The machine will advise you whether to put the return in the cart or in the white box.
- A library card and PIN code are required to borrow.
- The library card is scanned at the red check mark on the table. Place the card with the barcode facing up.
Self-service pickup of reservations
Reservations can be picked up from the cart near the entrance and the vending machine.
Remember to quote your reservation.
Reservations are arranged in order of magnitude by pickup number (the note in the middle of the book, the number series at the top). The pickup number can be found in the arrival notification. It is a 5–6 digit number series at the beginning or end of the message. The same customer always has the same pickup number.
Only your own reservations can be borrowed. If the borrowing is not successful, check that the pickup number is the same as the one on the arrival notice.
You can reserve the researcher's room through the municipality's room reservation service Asio, from the library staff during service hours, and from the municipality's center. Read the detailed description below the image.

Researcher's Room – remote library workspace — more detailed description (produced as part of the project)
The Jämijärvi Library's Research Room offers a peaceful and free working space for remote work, studying and taking care of business. The space is particularly suitable for people who need a computer, a quiet workstation with flexible opening hours.
LOCATION AND OPENING HOURS
The researcher's room is located in the center of Jämijärvi in the municipal library at School Road 2. The library is within walking distance of K-Market, Seo and the municipal gym. The parking area is located on Koulutie after the library, and parking is free of charge.
The room is located at the back of the library behind a separate door. Walk straight down the hallway until you reach the magazine section. Turn left before the magazine shelf and go through the door into the hallway. The door to the researcher's room is on the landing on the left.
The space is available during library service hours and self-service hours daily from 8:00 to 20:45. The premises must be vacated by 21:00. During self-service hours, you can enter the library with a Sata Libraries library card and pin code. BOOKING
Use of the researcher's room requires a reservation. The space can be reserved from the library's customer service when the staff is present or independently online through the Jämijärvi municipality's space reservation service, Asio. The reservation calendar shows available times, and the space can be reserved for two hours a day.
Booking is free of charge. When booking online, the user fills in their contact information, and the door code for the researcher's room is sent via text message and/or email.

FACILITIES AND WORKPLACES
The researcher's room is a separate study room with one workstation. The space is suitable for quiet individual work, studying, and taking care of business.
The workstation has a table, a chair and a ready-to-use computer. The space has wireless internet access, and the library computer is connected to a fiber optic network. There is a scanner in the researcher's room, and printing is possible through the library's customer service during library service hours. Printing is subject to a fee.
The library also has toilet facilities and free parking.
You can read many Finnish newspapers in the ePress service at the library.

The e-library has approximately 100 e-magazines available for reading.
E-books and e-audiobooks are added to the collection every week.
The e-library can be used on mobile phones and tablets using the e-library application, and now also on computers using a browser (see the links below for more information).

You can browse the selection without logging in. Reading is only possible when logged in. At least the first time you must use strong authentication. If you do not have strong authentication but use email, ask the library director if it is possible to register you as a user.
Using the e-library on a computer is in the testing phase. Improvements and additional features are coming to the site.
The e-library application is available for download from app stores. Guardians can also register the application on their child's device.
The app has 2026 new features. It is worth updating the app if it has been a while since you downloaded it.

You can only use e-newspapers (ePress) in the library, but you can also use others at home.

E-newspapers available in the library (ePress)
You can read most Finnish newspapers In the ePress service. There is no login required for the service. It only works on library premises, on your own device on the library's wireless network or on library computers. The wireless network name and password can be found on the library's notice board.
- The library will receive both subscription and free magazines.
- The latest issue of magazines and comics is not lent.
- The loan period for magazines is 14 days.

Jämijärvi Municipal Library is part of the Hundred Libraries.
Hundreds of libraries have a common online library and rules of use.
The same library card is valid in all Sata libraries. Loans can be returned to any Sata library.
All Sata libraries' materials can be used through Jämijärvi Library. Reserving materials is free (uncollected reservations cost 1 €).
The websites of the Hundred Libraries allow you to search for and reserve materials and make new loans. The websites provide information about e-materials and instructions for their use.
Interlibrary loans from outside the Sata Libraries are subject to a fee. Interlibrary loan prices for customers can be found on the Sata Libraries website under fees.
You can apply for a library card electronically on the Sata Libraries website in the Customer Guide section. Applying requires strong authentication, for example with bank codes or a mobile certificate. You can pick up your library card at the library during the next service hour.
When picking up the card, you must present a photo ID. For those under 18, a Kela card or the presence of a guardian is sufficient. For those under 15, an adult guarantor is required.
The library card can also be used with a mobile card that works on your phone. You can activate the mobile card by logging into the online library with your own credentials.
The library has two computers for customer use.

Parking
There are two parking spaces in the library yard, which are reserved for cars with reduced mobility. Other cars can be parked in the Pääsky School Center parking lot (on Koulutie, on the right after the library).
Electric door
The library entrance door is barrier-free. The door opens automatically when approached perpendicularly from the outside. When approaching along the ramp, the door opens by waving your hand near the square-shaped tag with a green light. The light turns blue when the door opens.
When leaving the library, the door opens by waving your hand near a square tag attached to the door frame before the windscreen. The door can also be opened by turning the door knob, but the door is stiff.
Wireless network
The name of the wireless network is Kunnanverkko. The network password is on the library noticeboard.

Celia's services are intended for people who find reading difficult or impossible due to illness, disability or other disability. The cause of the reading disability can be, for example, impaired vision or dyslexia.
The library can register a person with a reading disability as a customer of Celia's online service at a pre-arranged time. Celia's audiobooks can only be used by people with a reading disability.
Celia's online service has over 40,000 audiobooks. The online service can be used on a tablet, smartphone or computer. A loved one or contact person can arrange a loan on behalf of a person who does not know how to use the service themselves.
